Neurology Physician Assistant​/Nurse Practitioner

Overview

The position is a 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employment, with conduct of clinical duties between 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be expected to see primarily Movement Disorders with a small amount of general neurology patients.

• Outpatient clinical duties, participation in Scripps training and educational activities, and participation in monthly DBS team meetings.
• APP will work under the direct supervision of managing Movement Disorders Neurologist.
• Scope of practice focuses heavily on management of Parkinson’s Disease with opportunity to become skilled in programming of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
• Other primary disorders treated include Essential Tremor, dystonia, spasticity and headache.

• Assess patients with neurological complaints independently and in collaboration with the supervision physician(s).
• Perform follow-up care on patients.
• Coordinate care for neurology patients.
• Efficiently manage inbox tasks and patient inquiries.
• Collaborate with other providers such as the referring primary care physician.
• Call patients to discuss results, help set up plan, and answer their questions as needed.
• Order and manage laboratory and radiology findings.
• Management of medications.
• Provide education to neurology patients.
• Participate in conference and related continuing medical education.

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred 3-5 years experience as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) managing patients in a clinical setting. Experience in the subspecialty of Neurology is a plus.

In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, Scripps Clinic Medical Group posts the pay range for our open positions. Please note that actual pay will be determined based on calculated salary with an annual base of $130,000 plus production incentives after reaching defined minimum work RVU standards.
