Overview
CHI Health Clinic is seeking a compassionate, team oriented Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our Women’s Health Division to cover multiple campuses in Omaha, Nebraska. This opportunity is suited for a provider who is excited to provide comprehensive care to high risk infants and their family members. Experience is preferred, but not required.
The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) is responsible for providing direct clinical care in a Neonatal ICU inpatient setting and conducts medical histories, performs complete physical examinations, initiates appropriate labs, radiology tests and other special tests required for evaluation. Performs routine and specialized procedures as credentialed. May prescribe and monitor medications. Participates in medical team rounds and collaborates with physicians, nursing and other medical personnel.
Educates patient families and answers questions regarding their disease, treatments, related drug and treatment side effects and hazards. Refers patients to specialists as appropriate. Our Advanced Practice Providers are a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary care team with advanced communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Assess, diagnose, and manage the care of critically ill neonates in the NICU
- Provide direct clinical care in a Neonatal ICU inpatient setting, including medical histories, physical examinations, and orders for labs and imaging as required
- Perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and may prescribe and monitor medications
- Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with physicians, nursing and other medical personnel
- Educate patient families and answer questions regarding disease, treatments, drug therapies and potential side effects
- Refer patients to specialists as appropriate
- Be a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary care team with strong communication skills
Practice details
- Full Time (.9 FTE)
- Shifts are 12 and 24 hours
- First year on campus of Creighton University Bergan Mercy Medical Center (level III NICU)
- Then may provide care at CHI Lakeside Hospital (level III NICU) and CHI Immanuel Hospital (level II NICU) as oriented

- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
- Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required
- NE License required
- BLS, PALS and NRP required

Pay Range
$73.96 - $86.28 /hour
