American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

- Work in a mixed PCU, Med‑Surg, and Oncology unit at a Level 1 Trauma acute care hospital.
- Provide care for a 28‑bed unit serving adult oncology and trauma patient populations.
- Manage common diagnoses including oncology (diagnosis through remission) and trauma.
- Follow nurse‑to‑patient ratios: PCU 1:4 days, 1:5‑6 nights;
Med‑Surg 1:5. - Administer and titrate chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, protonix, insulin, and cardizem as needed.
- Utilize ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A‑line, Swan, EV‑1000).
- Use Epic EMR (experience within last 6 months is noted during orientation).
- Operate Alaris IV pumps.
- Perform 12‑hour night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.).
- Alternate weekend duties every other weekend.
- Self‑schedule shifts.
- Float to same level of care (Med‑Surg and PCU units).
- Active NE state RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license – must be active at consideration.
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certifications.
- Minimum 1 year of oncology and PCU experience.
- Must reside >50 miles from the facility (driver’s license used to verify address).
- No recent (past year) direct employment full‑time, part‑time, or PRN with any Common Spirit‑affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity).
- Two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Pass/fail, open‑book skills exam on first Friday of orientation; 90 % minimum score to continue assignment.
- Orientation approx. 2 days (12 hours).
- Unit support includes nursing assistants, charge nurses, PT/OT, RN case managers, social workers, an educator, and a dietician.
- Scrub color: navy blue.
- Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove results in contract termination.
- RTO must be disclosed upfront; no more than 7 days per 13‑week contract.
- First‑time travelers welcome.
