Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Position: RN Staff Nurse – Bilingual (Spanish/English Preferred)

Location:

Essential Pregnancy Services:
Maple Village Clinic; 3029 N 93rd Street

Hours:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30 am‑4:30 pm and 1 Saturday/month 8:30 am‑1:00 pm
Availability:
Coverage as needed at Bellevue location (908 W Mission Avenue)

  • Provide direct nursing care, including patient consultations, pregnancy testing, limited OB ultrasound, STI testing and treatment, early prenatal support, cycle tracking and body literacy education.
  • Follow EPS policy and procedures, standing orders, and approved EPS nursing education during every patient interaction.
  • Provide same‑day nurse consultations for all EPS patients.
  • Perform Limited Obstetric Ultrasounds per standing orders.
  • Administer pregnancy tests per standing orders.
  • Collect urine and/or blood specimens and prep STI screening kits per standing orders.
  • Enter lab orders for STI screenings as part of the NIPP project and send STI specimens to Nebraska Public Health Lab.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Complete medical nursing follow ups to patients.
  • Provide STI treatments to positive patients per standing orders.
  • Cross‑train in other testing service positions such as Reception Specialist and Resource Advocate.
  • Notify DCHD of STI treatments as needed.

Education and Advocacy

  • Educate and empower patients on topics such as pregnancy health, options education for abortion vulnerable and minded patients, cycle tracking and body literacy, and birth control education.
  • Promote a supportive, life‑affirming environment that fosters trust and holistic care.
  • Provide community referrals that align with patient needs and the organization’s mission.
  • Provide STI risk assessment and treatment education.

Documentation

  • Accurately document all nursing assessments, interventions, education, and community resource information given to every patient in a timely manner, utilizing the electronic database.
  • Support medication administration and documentation in compliance with clinic standards.
  • Maintain lab and equipment disinfectant logs.
  • Ensure proper handling, documentation, and reporting of test results.
  • Follow all clinical policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Staffing / Professional Development

  • Attend monthly EPS Staff Meeting.
  • Maintain current State of Nebraska RN Licensure.
  • Maintain current BLS certification.
  • Complete Annual Education provided by EPS.
  • Willing to float to our Bellevue location as needed.
Education and Experience

Qualifications

Education and Credentials

  • Current State of Nebraska licensure (RN) required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Willing to complete, or has completed, Limited Obstetric Ultrasound Training and 50‑75 required supervised scans.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in women’s health, obstetrics, or a related field preferred.
  • Compassionate clinical professional capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Spanish fluency is highly valued.

Nature and Scope of Accountability:
Hired by the Director of Nursing & Clinical Services and reports to the Clinic Nurse Manager and/or Director of Nursing & Clinical Services.

EPS reserves the right to unilaterally change work schedule at‑will to accommodate center growth and assure EPS meets client needs. This schedule does not constitute a guarantee of these future employment hours listed. This is not an employee contract. Nebraska is an at‑will employment state. Your employment with Essential Pregnancy Services will remain on an at‑will basis.
