Schedule
Full Time, Days – 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday with rotating day off.

Essential Functions- Conducts holistic age‑specific patient/family assessments upon visit according to defined standards.
- Ongoing patient/family assessments/reassessments are completed according to the appropriate CPG or protocols and unit standard of care.
- Collects and documents data related to patient’s physical, mental, developmental, emotional and social condition.
- Demonstrates age‑specific competency in assessment of patients by obtaining and interpreting information in terms of the patients’ needs.
- Assesses family expectations and involvement in assessment and continuous care or treatment of the patient.
- Able to meet families’ expectations during their visit to the clinic.
- Communicates plan of care to the patient/family so they can understand.
- Identifies/assesses the need for MD involvement or a potential change in plan of care.
- Documentation and evaluation of nursing actions.
- Chart audits are conducted to meet JCAHO and organizational expectations, with an overall goal of 95% compliance.
- Facilitates timely communication to/from patient/family and other healthcare disciplines; phone calls are returned within the same business day.
- Reviews patient charts to coordinate care by ensuring completion of tests, consultations and procedures, interdisciplinary follow‑up and referrals.
- Follows up on tests and lab results within established time frames (within 48 hours after results are obtained).
- Considers cultural, cognitive, emotional, and social influences on the patient/families’ ability and readiness to learn.
- All teaching is documented on the FER to include understanding of topics taught.
- Provides patient information timely, concise and thoroughly to the MD and assists MD in clinic to maintain workflow and meet expectations of customers.
- Demonstrates effective delegation techniques.
- Performs special tasks and procedures within the scope of practice for an RN that are unique to Ambulatory Care clinics.
- Completes tasks with expertise, timeliness, organization and detail.
- Communicates effectively through written documentation or verbally to appropriate individuals.
- Coordinates patient care to ensure continuity of care.
- Regular attendance at work is essential.
- Performs physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing – required.
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing – required.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience. Incumbents with less than 1 year of RN experience must commit to work full time in a Nurse Residency Program.
- Experience with pediatric patients – preferred.
- Previous experience with EPIC – preferred.
- RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure valid in the state of Nebraska – required.
- BLS – Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association – required.
