Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Omaha, NE

Contract | Days | Onsite |

Shifts:

0630–1900 and 1830–0700 | Every third weekend required (up to every other based on unit need) | 1 major and 1 minor holiday required

• Provide direct nursing care to high-risk and routine obstetric patients in a Labor and Delivery setting with 16 labor rooms, 9 antepartum rooms, and a 7-bed triage unit
• Circulate in the OR for cesarean section procedures across 3 dedicated OR suites on the unit
• Titrate drips including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medications per physician orders
• Perform normal newborn assessments and routine infant care; float to Postpartum as needed to care for both mother and infant
• Assess obstetric patients greater than 20 weeks with pregnancy-related complaints in the triage unit
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including on-floor residents, supervising physicians, CRNAs available 24/7, and OB technicians

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Ability to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections
• Competency in normal newborn assessments and routine newborn care
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal

• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM); familiarity with Obix system a plus
• Prior experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery setting (unit delivers up to 400 births per month)
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and antepartum patient care
• Demonstrated ability to manage titratable drips in an obstetric setting

• Work in a well-supported, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit with 24/7 physician and anesthesia coverage and a collaborative care team
• Surgical scrubs are provided on unit; orientation support of 2–3 shifts offered to set travelers up for success
