Labor & Delivery / Postpartum - Shift: 3x12s (Days 6:30 AM–7:00 PM or Nights 6:30 PM–7:00 AM)

36 hrs/week - Birth Volume:
Up to 400 deliveries/month
- Labor & Delivery Care: ~18–20 hrs/week
- Manage laboring patients
- Continuous fetal monitoring
- High-risk and routine obstetric care
- Labor support and delivery assistance
- C-Section / OR Circulation: ~5–6 hrs/week
- Must be able to circulate C-sections
- Assist in 3 dedicated OB OR suites
- Recovery care following surgical deliveries
- Postpartum & Newborn Care: ~5–6 hrs/week
- Normal newborn assessments
- Routine infant care
- Maternal postpartum recovery
- Floating to Postpartum when needed
- Medication & Drip Management: ~2–3 hrs/week
- Pitocin
- Magnesium Sulfate
- Pain medication infusions
- Titration of OB-related drips
- Documentation & Care Coordination: ~2–3 hrs/week
- OBIX fetal monitoring documentation
- Interdisciplinary communication and patient education
- 16 Labor Rooms
- 9 Antepartum Rooms
- 3 C-Section OR Suites
- 7-Bed OB Triage Unit
- 36 Postpartum Beds
- High-Risk & Routine OB Population
- OBIX Fetal Monitoring System
- Labor: 1:1–2
- Antepartum: 1:2–3
- AWHONN-based staffing guidelines
- BLS
- NRP
- Labor & Delivery experience
- C-Section Circulating
- Fetal Monitoring
- Newborn Assessments
- Routine Infant Care
- Postpartum Care
- OB Emergency Response
- Titration of Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
- Postpartum Unit
- Occasional House Float as Patient Sitter
- Must be comfortable caring for both mother and newborn
- Every 3rd Weekend (can increase to every other weekend based on unit needs)
- 1 Major Holiday and 1 Minor Holiday
- 2–3 Unit Orientation Shifts
- Self-scheduling/block scheduling may vary by department needs
L&D RN with strong labor, delivery, postpartum, newborn assessment, and C-section circulating experience. Successful candidates are team-oriented, flexible, adaptable, eager to learn, and comfortable floating between Labor & Delivery and Postpartum while providing excellent maternal and newborn care.
