About the Position

Registered Nurse PreOP/PACU at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Mansfield.

The RN Preop PACU provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, continuously evaluating the patient’s condition to ensure safety, comfort and privacy. The RN assists physicians in the procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques, and provides comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation—including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients.
• Continuously evaluate the patient’s condition, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques.
• Provide comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family for discharge.

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
