Job Description & RequirementsMalone Healthcare – Nursing seeks a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment at a premier high‑volume Common Spirit facility in Omaha, Nebraska. Duties include high‑risk routine obstetric management, immediate postpartum care, and supportive tasks across a collaborative teaching hospital environment.

- Shift: 12‑hour days (0630‑1900) or 12‑hour nights (1830‑0700)

- Hours:
36 hours per week guaranteed - Schedule:
every third weekend rotation (up to every other based on urgent unit needs); 1 major and 1 minor holiday commitment. - Duration: 13 weeks
- Ratios: 1:1‑2 for active labor; 1:2‑3 for antepartum care (AWHONN guidelines)
- Surgical Scope: 3 dedicated on‑unit C‑section suites with 2 OB Surgical Techs per shift and 24/7 in‑house CRNAs
- EMR/Fetal Monitoring:
Obix EFM system
- Experience:
Minimum 2 years recent high‑volume L&D experience - Core Specialty
Skills:
Competency in OR circulating for C‑sections, normal newborn assessments, and routine baby care - Certifications:
Active AHA BLS and NRP - Licensure:
Active Registered Nurse license - System Restrictions:
Must not hold current FT, PT, or PRN employment with any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility. Permanent residence must be 50+ miles away from the facility (driver’s license required for verification). - Hygiene Compliance:
Must follow infection control protocol prohibiting artificial nails in patient care areas - Time‑Off Constraints:
Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per contract, required strictly at submission time
Travelers receive 2–3 shifts of dedicated floor‑specific orientation with a preceptor. Travelers may float to the 36‑bed Postpartum unit on occasion and may need to serve as a patient sitter on the house as required. Hospital‑provided surgical scrubs are supplied on‑site.
