- Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
- RN's must pass an exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher to avoid contract termination.
- A driver's license is required for submission and will be used for determining distance.
Description:
The unit is a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will have a positive attitude and a willingness to help others. Good communication skills are essential. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are necessary for this role. The unit handles a range of patients, including adults and geriatrics with cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring issues. RNs are required to titrate drips such as Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications.
There will be a charge nurse present on each shift, and they will take an assignment. There are nurse aids or patient care techs available with a ratio of 1:10 or 2:20. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Holiday requirements include working every third holiday. There is no call or standby requirement for this position. Floating to medical floors, ICU, or rehab may be necessary.
The first week will consist of onboarding followed by 1-2 days of orientation on the floor. Candidates must be prepared to provide upfront time off requests, with additional requests not approved after submission. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment and 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks. The charting system used is EPIC.
Candidates do not need a BSN to apply. This position is set in an acute care setting with Trauma Level 2.
