Description:

The Cardiovascular ICU is a specialty intensive care unit. It provides care to high acuity specialty patients. Staff will care for patients such as stable heart and lung transplants. Experience with ventricular assist devices and ECMO patients is required. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2-3 days and 1:2-3 nights. Weekend shifts include Saturday and Sunday, with nights on Friday and Saturday. Travelers must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays.

Care teams consist of RNs, CNAs, care techs, and transport teams. First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have relevant experience. Travelers are first to float to meet hospital staffing needs. RTO requests must be submitted with the application. Additional requests will be at manager's discretion. All applicants should have experience with drips, IVs, and cardiac care. This is a fast-paced unit with a focus on complex cardiovascular patients.
