Travel Stepdown RN
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Omaha, Nebraska.
Responsibilities- Provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
- Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
- Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of cardiac status and response to interventions.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and cardiac emergency protocols.
- Document nursing history and physical assessments for assigned telemetry patients.
- Initiate patient education plans with individualized focus on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
- Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as without assistance from other personnel.
- Possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
