Position: Oncology CNA - Critical Care Cancer Unit (Day Shift)

Position Overview

The Werner Cancer Hospital Specialty Care Unit (WSCU) is a 36‑bed unit in the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center that serves adult oncology patients receiving chemotherapy or high‑dose chemotherapy, with or without bone marrow or stem cell transplant, and undergoing complex medication and blood product administration.

Shift

Details

First Shift (United States of America) – Days (7:00am – 7:30pm). Full time or Part time.

Responsibilities

Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of the patient’s plan of care.

Required Qualifications – Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January1,2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications – Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Required Qualifications – Nursing Assistant
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January1,2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications – Nursing Assistant
  • Direct patient care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
