Shift
:
Third Shift – Nights (7:00pm – 7:30am). Full time or part time available.

Unit Overview

The WSCU is a 36‑bed specialty care unit dedicated to adult oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy, high‑dose chemotherapy, or bone‑marrow / stem‑cell transplant. The unit provides complex medication and blood‑product administration, and supports education and research for Oncology/Hematology patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel to achieve the patient’s plan of care.
  • Provide expert acute/critical and compassionate care to Oncology/Hematology patients and families.
  • Support education, consultation, and research initiatives within the unit.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Nebraska.
  • For Nursing Assistant positions:
    Six months of patient‑care experience or enrollment in a nursing program.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association‑endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January1,2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Direct patient‑care experience.
