Work Schedule:

12‑hour night shifts rotating weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Provides primary health care for patients.

• Provides primary health care for patients by employing assessment and diagnosis of health status, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring patient outcomes.
  • Obtains patient’s medical history; prioritizes data collection based on immediate condition.
  • Determines patient’s mental status.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other disciplines, giving regular consistent feedback.
  • Uses new or additional data to inform treatment plans.
  • Incorporates research into clinical practice.
  • Performs advanced assessments on complex patients and develops specific interventions to prevent iatrogenic complications.
• Provides patient and family education on medication usage and health/illness prevention to ensure adequate knowledge and awareness.
• Demonstrates sensitivity to family regarding need for timely patient information.
• Works collaboratively with physicians and other team members to deliver education tailored to patient and family capabilities.
• Applies adult learning principles, checking for understanding and providing follow‑up.
• Recommends resources such as printed materials, online resources, and community information.
• Prepares prescription orders, inquiries, and renewals to facilitate patient care.
  • Implements interventions consistent with the established plan of care safely and appropriately.
  • Applies established therapeutic practices to patient problems.
  • Prescribes medications in accordance with DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
  • Generates referrals to appropriate services as needed to further diagnose and progress care.
• Administers medications and immunizations via injection, inhalation or oral methods.
• Performs patient consultations and physical exams independently and under physician direction, including history, vital signs, relevant tests, and documentation.
  • Obtains medical and psychosocial history; performs physical exam; assesses mental status.
  • Collaborates with physicians and other clinical disciplines. Provides teaching and education specific to patient health‑care problem.
  • Orders appropriate ancillary tests.
• Develops preliminary diagnosis and prescribes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Uses assessment techniques and diagnostic information.
  • Performs tests and records findings.
  • Orders ancillary tests and derives diagnosis as data becomes available.
• Provides care specific to patient age, ensuring understanding and comfort as outlined in "Age Specific Criteria."
