Description:
Travelers will be required to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the facility. The specialty unit has a mixed acuity focus, including medical surgical and telemetry as well as stepdown care. RNs should be prepared to care for up to six medical-surgical patients. The unit specializes in neurology and neurosurgery with various diagnoses including strokes, aneurysms, and seizures. RNs will work in a 48-bed unit with ratios of 1:5 during the day and up to 1:7 pdown ratios will be 1:3-4.
Drip experience is required on all floors. Travelers must be prepared to float within their scope to meet facility needs. Weekend work is required, with four weekend shifts out of eight possible in a four-week period. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays. RTO restrictions apply and must be submitted with the application. RNs will wear gray scrubs with the organization's logo.
Team support will include care techs, transport teams, and interdisciplinary support from various departments. Special equipment may include lumbar drains, and required drips will include nitroglycerin, heparin, and insulin. The facility is committed to providing high-quality care for both adult and geriatric populations. RNs should possess skills in managing cardiac telemetry, IV techniques, and post-neurosurgery care among others. Additional skills required include tracheostomy care and wound management.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent nursing practices and maintain current knowledge of required procedures and protocols. Travelers must comply with all facility requirements and maintain a professional demeanor while delivering patient care.
