Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 OBS beds, and a 6-bed Fast Track area
- Manage and care for patients presenting with trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, strokes (including TPA administration), and other emergent conditions
- Administer and monitor all common drips associated with a Level I Trauma environment
- Read and independently interpret cardiac monitor strips and telemetry
- Float to OBS unit and a freestanding Emergency Room location at least once per week
- Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and support staff including nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
- Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center (required)
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
- Must pass a facility-administered open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
- Compliance with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
- Experience in a Pediatric Certified or Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
- Familiarity with fast-track and observation unit workflows
- Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center that is also Pediatric Certified by the State and designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center
