Radius Rule: 50 miles, candidates may not be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization. Driver's license is required and will be used to determine candidates outside the 50-mile radius. Fingernail policy:
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care; refusal to remove nails will lead to termination. RN's will take an exam during orientation. The exam is open book on skills learned, and candidates will have all necessary resources to pass with a required score of 90%.

Common diagnosis/types of patients include Med Surg/Tele, joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbations, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and failure to thrive. RN's are required to titrate drips such as Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine. Common titratable and/or set rate drips include PCA pumps. There is a Charge Nurse on each shift, and the Charge Nurse takes an assignment.
Nurse aides/patient care techs are present on this unit with a ratio of 1:10-20. Tele/Monitor Techs will interpret, and RNs should have some tele awareness.

Typically every other weekend, though additional coverage may be needed based on department demand. Schedules are posted 6 weeks in advance, with the manager making adjustments as needed. Holiday Requirements: 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years. Floating Requirements:
Yes, to other medical surgical areas or units with Med Surg patients waiting for a Med Surg bed. Scrub Color/Dress Code: RNs wear navy blue scrubs. Number of shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 2 days. Additional Notes:
There are mechanical lifts in every other room. A big focus is on hourly rounding and responsiveness. This unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one day. A successful nurse on this unit can manage the business of the day, have good attendance, be a team player, and demonstrate compassion for patients. Patients served come from diverse cultural backgrounds, including various languages such as Spanish, Karen, and Burmese.
RTO must be provided upfront (7 or fewer days) for the 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved after submission. Cancellation Policy:
The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting System: EPIC BSN is not required. Trauma Level: 1 Care Setting:
