American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active Nebraska or Compact RN license and 2+ years of ER experience.
Details- , Level 2 Trauma Center Emergency Department with 27 beds
- Patient population includes all ages
- Support staff on shifts includes nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics
- Phlebotomy services are available for lab draws
- Uses EPIC EMR charting system
- Shift options include 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a
- 12-hour shifts with day and evening shift availability
- Self-scheduling is available, though shifts are not guaranteed until finalized
- Weekend requirement is every third weekend, with nights on Friday/Saturday and days on Saturday/Sunday
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- No floating required
- Active RN license (Nebraska state or Compact/NLC) required, pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (active only, pending not accepted)
- Acute care and Level 2 Trauma Center experience
- EPIC EMR experience
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Artificial fingernails are prohibited in all patient care areas
- Provide direct patient care to Emergency Department patients of all ages
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
- Candidates may not currently or recently be employed (full time, part time, or PRN) directly by any Common Spirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity Health
- RNs must pass a Pass/Fail open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% to continue the assignment
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved after submission
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
