This position requires a registered nurse to work in a mixed acuity unit. The unit specializes in neurological and neurosurgical patients. Patient diagnoses include strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, and brain tumors. RNs will float within their scope to meet facility needs. RNs should anticipate caring for up to five medical-surgical patients. The patient ratio for medical-surgical and telemetry is 1:5 during the day and 1:6 pdown ratios range from 1:3 to 1:4 for both days and nights.
Drips are required on all floors, and experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips is necessary. RNs must be prepared to work weekends, with a requirement of four weekend shifts in a four-week period. Travelers must work two out of three major holidays. This facility is a nicotine-free workplace. Candidates must be proficient in managing various medical protocols and have experience with telemetry monitoring.
The healthcare team includes CNAs, care techs, and LPNs. RNs will receive support from interdisciplinary teams including IV, respiratory, and physical therapy. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment providing essential care to complex patients.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience required in a large, urban hospital License:
Current RN license required
Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have:
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility within the last year
- Travel experience required
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Candidates must be 100 miles from the facility
