Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with Common Spirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
Will not accept first time travelers. Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
Fingernail policy:
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract.
RN's
- Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. Open book exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.

Nurse:
Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU
Common diagnoses/Types of patients:
Adults and Peds >15 years old. Various trauma injuries (only level 1 trauma center for the system, take in a lot of transfers and/or ED admits), sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, cardiac arrest.
CVPs, IABP and Impella-core staff will take if no exp;
Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring - all can train real time. Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuse.
Are RNs required to titrate drips?:
Yes
Common titratable &/or set rate drips:
Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics
Is there a charge nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?:
Yes
Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?:
Yes- 1:18
RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?:
Nasal cannula to vents
Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?:
No techs
- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret.
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): , // self-scheduling, managed by manager based on unit needs
Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
Floating Requirements:
All over to the inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU

Navy Blue
