Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Operating Room
LocationOmaha, NE | Acute Care
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Primarily Day Shift (3x12-Hour Shifts, 7:00–19:30) with possible night shift rotation (19:00–7:30) | Onsite | Float required | Weeknight call: 1–2 nights/week on average | Weekend call: approximately every 4–5 weeks (24-hour Saturday or Sunday, 1–2 days/month) | Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
Key Responsibilities- Provide perioperative nursing care in an operating room setting, functioning as a well-rounded RN with the ability to work outside of primary specialty as needed
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across a broad range of complex oncology and general surgery cases including Whipple, Esophagectomy, Ex Lap, Bowel Resection, Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy, Adrenalectomy (Laparoscopic), Neck Dissection, Free Flaps, Mastectomy, Lumpectomy, Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy, and Melanoma Excisions
- Support breast surgery cases including Breast Reduction, Stage 1 and Stage 2 Breast Reconstruction
- Participate in on-call rotation including weeknight and weekend call requirements as scheduled
- Chart accurately and efficiently using EPIC
- Adhere to all facility policies including a 100% nicotine-free facility requirement
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nebraska state license accepted as pending at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
- Oncology Surgery experience with General Surgery experience required
- Minimum Level 2 Trauma experience required
- BLS certification required
- Proficiency in EPIC charting required
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Level 1 Trauma experience strongly preferred
- DaVinci robotic surgery experience highly preferred
- Orthopedic and/or Neurology OR experience highly preferred
- Experience with the full range of listed oncology and general surgery case types
