Essential Functions
UNO is looking for a student worker to assist in promoting the UNO
Mavericks spirit as the official, DURANGO Mascot. Durango is present, and often performs, at UNO
Athletic events, campus programs, and can be requested to be present at non-campus functions. Backgrounds in performance and/or ice-skating are a plus, but NOT REQUIRED .

Required Qualifications
- Perform as Durango at athletic and social functions for UNO
Remains in character while wearing the costume. - Interacts, in character, with students, faculty, staff, parents, families, children, alumni community members, and fans.
- Work events throughout the year, to enhance and promote Maverick Spirit and
UNO mission and core values. - Ability to attend all scheduled events, including nights and weekend events.
- Performance background (dance, cheer, etc.)
- Ability to ice skate in uniform.
- Must be of appropriate body size to wear The Durango costume comfortably and support the weight of the costume for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and move 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must have good posture and physical ability to perform Durango actions (i.e. standing, running, kneeling, reaching, jumping, bending, waving hands/arms, etc.).
- Work is performed in and out of doors, with exposure to varying temperatures.
