Job TitleRegistered Nurse – PICU

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care across a mixed-acuity 24-bed unit, with ratios of 1:2 (PICU), 1:3 (PCU), and 1:4 (Acute); PICU RNs are expected to work across the full acuity spectrum
- May be assigned as a Rover/Task Nurse on any inpatient unit, including NICU, Labor and Delivery, and adult acute care, performing duties such as turns, repositioning, bathing, ambulation, meal assistance, patient transport, and medication administration within individual scope and training
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Adhere to scheduling requirements, including a minimum of 3 weekend shifts plus a Sunday night per scheduling period, as determined by unit needs
- Fulfill holiday obligations by working 2 out of 3 major holidays; holiday requests must be submitted with application
- May be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts as directed by unit needs
- Active or pending Nebraska RN license (note: candidates without license in hand at time of submission will be scheduled with a six-week lead time)
- BLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required; high-acuity pediatric experience strongly preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3 or more years of PICU experience
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- This is a 100% nicotine-free facility; compliance is required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience in high-acuity pediatric or critical care settings
- Familiarity with mixed-acuity unit environments spanning PICU, PCU, and acute care levels
