Job Title:

Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector monitors product quality throughout the manufacturing process to ensure all materials and finished goods meet established specifications and regulatory standards. This role inspects incoming components, raw materials, in-process bulk, and finished products, investigates documentation discrepancies, and supports continuous improvement of quality systems and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the quality of products in process to ensure they meet company specifications and standards.
  • Inspect incoming components, raw materials, in-process bulk, and finished products against defined specifications and requirements.
  • Investigate discrepancies in documentation and accurately complete batch record documentation.
  • Evaluate minimum applicable product weight, product concentration levels, component weight, and accuracy of identification for all relevant materials and products.
  • Audit finished goods to verify compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform random line checks on production lines and document all findings clearly and accurately.
  • Review batch records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Perform GMP inspections and ensure proper documentation of all inspection activities.
  • Communicate needed corrections, major defects, and quality concerns promptly to the quality leadership team.
  • Monitor and record rejects, deviations, and investigations, ensuring proper tracking and follow‑up.
  • Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain the SOP book to ensure it remains current and accurate.
  • Develop and document processes for new procedures to support continuous improvement and consistent quality.
  • Use a variety of scales and measurement devices to perform accurate inspections and measurements.
  • Apply Quality Control (QC) and Total Quality Management (TQM) principles in daily activities to support a robust quality culture.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of quality control experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with Quality Control (QC) processes and methodologies.
  • Experience with Total Quality Management (TQM) practices.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in quality inspection techniques, including inspection of components, raw materials, in-process bulk, and finished goods.
  • Ability to accurately complete and review batch records and related documentation.
  • Experience auditing finished goods and performing random line checks.
  • Ability to use a variety of scales and measurement devices with accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience working with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including writing, updating, and following them.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and nonconformances.
  • Effective communication skills to clearly report defects, deviations, and needed corrections.
  • Ability to monitor and record rejects, deviations, and investigations in an organized and compliant manner.

  • Experience developing and documenting new procedures and processes.
  • Familiarity with batch record documentation systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in quality control within a manufacturing setting, particularly in consumer products such as shampoos or fragrances, is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and SOP documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and quality teams.
  • Comfort working in an environment that applies structured quality frameworks such as QC and TQM.
Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces shampoos and fragrances, creating a pleasantly scented work environment. The facility promotes internal growth and seeks to advance team members when future opportunities arise. The standard shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing a four‑day workweek. The workplace is not highly climate controlled, so you will work in both cold and warm temperatures depending on the season and production area.
