Overview

QA Technician - 3rd Shift | Omaha, NE | Full Time | Lab / QC - General

Salary:
Competitive pay: $23.47 per hour. After six months, pay increases to $26.08 per hour. Shift differential of $1.25 per hour for all hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. $3,000 Hiring Bonus.

Job Purpose

Lab experience preferred – use of instruments to complete chemical and biological testing (e.g., pH, viscosity, fat, protein, coliform count, APC count, yeast and mold count). Under regular supervision, perform required tests and quality control inspections of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods. Accurately record, communicate, and file results. Perform routine line inspections on the production floor.

This is a 3rd shift position. Shift hours are 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM. May be subject to change based on operations and business necessity. Weekend and overtime work may be required based on production and operational needs. Regular and prompt attendance during scheduled hours is required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control inspections on production samples and conduct chemical and microbiological analyses on raw materials and final products to verify adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct routine line inspections, audits, and equipment checks on the production floor.
  • Use keen observation, clear communication, and good judgment to catch, address, and prevent production errors.
  • Approve release of products and materials.
  • Maintain production and raw material testing records and logs.
  • Store production and raw material samples properly.
  • Collaborate with supervision to troubleshoot problems in the lab and on the production floor.
  • Maintain lab equipment and keep the work area clean.
  • Perform operations in accordance with Safety Policies, Good Lab Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report and take action to prevent food safety and quality problems from occurring.
  • Communicate effectively and timely within the quality department and with other departments across the plant.
  • Perform sanitation inspections on equipment and facilities to maintain a sanitary and food-safe environment.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum Education:

    (documented requirement; e.g., high school diploma or equivalent)
  • Experience with SAP; lab and QA experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to operate various laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to perform inspections on the production floor.
