Quality Management System (QMS) Manager
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements. This role ensures that all injection molding operations, support processes, suppliers, and quality activities meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company objectives. The position drives a culture of quality, process discipline, risk management, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:Quality Management System (QMS) Administration
- Maintain certification and compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Develop, implement, and update QMS policies, procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Manage document control and records retention systems.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.
- Coordinate management reviews and monitor QMS effectiveness.
Internal and External Audits
- Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
- Coordinate third-party certification audits and customer audits.
- Ensure corrective actions from audit findings are properly implemented and verified.
- Track audit performance metrics and report results to management.
Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Lead root cause analysis investigations using methodologies such as:
- 8D
- 5 Why Analysis
- Fishbone Diagrams
- FMEA
- Manage corrective and preventive action processes.
- Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
Process Quality Management
- Monitor manufacturing processes for compliance with quality requirements.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and tooling departments to improve process capability.
- Support process validation activities for injection molding equipment and automation systems.
- Analyze quality trends, scrap data, customer complaints, and nonconformance reports.
Customer and Supplier Quality
- Act as primary quality representative during customer audits and quality meetings.
- Manage customer complaints and quality concerns.
- Coordinate supplier quality assessments and corrective action requests.
- Support supplier qualification and performance monitoring activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
- Scrap reduction
- Yield improvement
- Process stability
- Customer satisfaction
- Facilitate Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
- Promote risk-based thinking throughout the organization.
Training and Development
- Train employees on ISO 9001 requirements and quality procedures.
- Develop quality awareness programs.
- Support competency assessments and training record management.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs including:
- PPM (Parts Per Million)
- Scrap Rates
- Customer Complaints
- On-Time Corrective Actions
- Audit Performance
- Cost of Quality
- Prepare monthly quality reports for management review.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience
- 5+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience managing ISO 9001 systems.
- Experience in injection molding, plastics manufacturing, or automotive manufacturing preferred.
- Experience leading certification and customer audits.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM)
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- ASQ Certifications

Technical Skills
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Understanding of injection molding processes and quality controls.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Process capability studies (Cp, Cpk).
