A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mabruka Alfaidi, in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology. The Alfaidi Lab has a long-standing interest in vascular cell signaling and the impact of vascular molecular/genetic mechanisms on phenotypic changes in the context of cardiopulmonary‑vascular diseases. The successful candidate will help design and conduct research within this field, receive advanced training, and develop independence for a future career.
Responsibilities- Design, evaluate, and conduct experiments in vascular biology research.
- Interpret data and develop new ideas to advance current projects.
- Prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
- Teach techniques, train, and supervise research staff and students.
- Present findings at local, national, and international seminars and meetings.
- PhD, MD/PhD in vascular biology and/or pulmonary hypertension.
- Experience in animal models of pulmonary hypertension.
- Experience directing and training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
- Strong communication skills for organizing and presenting research results.
- Self‑motivated, multitasking, and able to work independently in a dynamic research environment.
- Experience in endothelial cell culture, animal model of pulmonary hypertension, Western blot and qPCR, single cell and ATAC sequencing, and statistical analysis.

Working Environment &Physical Requirements
Lab environment, Office environment, Animal facility. Physical requirements include bending, stooping, twisting up to 2 hours; crawling occasionally; kneeling occasionally; reaching up to 2 hours; sitting 2‑5 hours; standing up to 2 hours; walking up to 2 hours. Chemical hazards present. Work with laboratory animals. PPE required as applicable.
