Position SummaryThe Research Technician supports federally funded research in human movement biomechanics by coordinating daily study activities, maintaining regulatory compliance, collecting high‑quality biomechanical data, and managing laboratory equipment and data systems. This role is essential to keeping projects on track and ensuring research milestones are met on time.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and organize all aspects of funded research projects, including compliance approval, scheduling, communication, and follow‑up, and serve as liaison with collaborators.
- Collect biomechanics data according to study protocols; train and oversee support members of the research team; oversee data processing, storage, and preparation for publications.
- Maintain equipment needed for data collection, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with research core facilities when necessary.
- Prepare the lab for data collection sessions and operate specialized biomechanics equipment such as motion capture systems, force platforms, electromyography, and wearable technologies according to study protocols.
- Train and supervise students involved in data collection and processing.
- Assist with preparing data summaries for publications and grant submissions; maintain laboratory equipment and supplies to support efficient research operations.
- BS in engineering, science, or related field.
- Prior experience in collecting biomechanics data.
- Ability to be credentialed with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
