Salary Range: $43,800 - $65,700 per year

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 08:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Remote/Telecommuting: No remote/telecommuting opportunity

Position Summary: Conducts research addressing the urgent challenge of antibiotic resistance by developing next-generation antimicrobials using an established peptide database. This position will join a lab that will use AI to identify effective and non-hemolytic antimicrobial peptides. Responsibilities include maintaining the laboratory, equipment and supplies.

Required Qualifications
  • No prior experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and strong math skills.
  • Willingness to accept training in new technologies and computer software applications.
  • Scientific and technical knowledge of laboratory experiments.
  • Willingness to follow recommended improvements in technologies.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, professional staff and students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Virology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • One or more years’ experience in a research laboratory, preferably in virology, molecular biology, cell biology, and/or immunology.
  • Knowledge of basic microbiology and immunology, particularly in antimicrobial development.
  • Self-motivated, positive, organized, with a good work ethic.
  • Knowledge of institutional, state, and federal guidelines and policies for laboratory practices.
  • Experience with Graph Pad Prism preferred.
