Position Summary

This Research Technician will perform specialized tasks related to the execution, optimization, and management of high‑resolution spatial transcriptomics and proteomics workflows in the Spatial Profiling Hub Core Facility under the direction of the Core Director. The role is responsible for daily core operations, including tissue processing, instrument maintenance, data management, and project billing, while ensuring strict compliance with institutional guidelines. Additionally, the technician will assist with protocol development, stay current with emerging technologies, and provide technical input for scientific publications to support the facility’s research goals.

Responsibilities
  • Execute and optimize spatial transcriptomics and proteomics workflows.
  • Perform daily core operations: tissue processing, instrument maintenance, data management, and project billing.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with protocol development and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and approaches.
  • Provide technical input for scientific publications.
Required Qualifications
  • Education:

    Scientific field (e.g., biology, biochemistry).
  • Experience:

    Minimum 2 years in a molecular biology laboratory or research setting.
  • Computer Applications:
    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Working with general laboratory equipment such as pipettes and centrifuges.
    • Basic laboratory mathematics.
    • Laboratory notebook best practices.
  • No license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with next‑generation sequencing.
  • Experience with large scientific instrument use and maintenance.
  • Experience with university core facilities.
  • Administrative oversight on scientific projects (data management, sample storage, point of contact).
