Position Summary

Assist in the evaluation, feasibility assessment, startup, activation, and coordination of clinical research studies, including general rheumatology studies as well as gene and cellular therapy trials conducted by the University of Nebraska Medical Center and/or Nebraska Medicine Rheumatology Investigators. This role is responsible for conducting initial feasibility assessments for assigned studies, supporting site initiation activities, and managing projects from activation through study close-out.

The individual will serve as a key coordination resource across all phases of clinical trials, ensuring efficient study execution and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sponsors and Nebraska Medicine staff to ensure adherence to FDA, sponsor, and institutional guidelines for study activation and conduct.
  • Support the maintenance of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards across all assigned research protocols, with an emphasis on rheumatologic clinical studies and advanced gene and cellular therapy research.
  • Coordinate project activities from study activation through close-out, ensuring efficient study execution.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Relevant coursework or specialized training in Nursing (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
  • License: Registered nurse with current licensure or licensure eligible.
  • Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with other team members.
    • Solid organizational skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Knowledge of current nursing procedures, techniques, and practices.
    • Ability to perform physical assessment as appropriate.
    • Computer literacy and proficiency.
    • Utilization of knowledge and skills related to meeting age-specific needs of the patient population served within the copy of the job description:
      Age specific populations served include Adult (18-65) and Geriatric (65 and older).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Nursing degree or additional training.
  • Computer Applications: Epic, Clinical Trials Management System, Red Cap, research related EDC programs.
  • Additional

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Past clinical research skills and knowledge preferred.
    • Experience with rheumatology medicine preferred.
