The Research Associate will play a crucial role in the successful execution and completion of research studies within the UNMC Division of Rheumatology. This position involves coordinating various aspects of research projects, including IRB submissions, participant recruitment, study visits, data collection, and timely submission of study data to sponsors. The ideal candidate will have a strong work‑ethic, familiarity with clinical research methodologies, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Coordinate IRB submissions and ensure compliance with institutional review board requirements.
- Recruit and manage study participants, scheduling study visits and ensuring adherence to protocols.
- Collect and enter study data accurately and in a timely manner.
- Submit study data to sponsors according to agreed timelines.
- Maintain study documentation and ensure records are complete and up to date.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to meet study goals.
- High school education or equivalent (3 years of related post–high school education or experience will be considered).
- Three (3) years of experience related to healthcare, laboratory, and/or clinical research.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail in completing paperwork and data entry.
- Ability to accurately follow study protocol guidelines and identify potential problems.
- Relevant coursework or specialized training in biological sciences, healthcare, laboratory or clinical research.
- Phlebotomy certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Prior IRB and clinical research experience or willingness to be trained.
