Hourly Salary: $21 per hour
Job PurposeThis job description provides a basic guideline of the duties, responsibilities, and requirements of this position. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us.
- Provide warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance to guests.
- Supervise restaurant and bar operations to ensure high levels of service and hospitality.
- Train, direct, coach, and support restaurant and bar team members.
- Resolve guest and employee issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and service standards.
- Assist other departments during emergencies as needed.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
- Maintain professionalism, responsibility, and positive conduct.
- Foster a supportive, team-oriented work environment.
- Communicate effectively with guests, staff, and leadership.
- Maintain open communication across departments and share pertinent information.
- Respond positively to feedback and new ideas.
- Fill in for staff as needed to ensure service standards are met.
- Ensure all staff are properly trained and certified as required.
- Empower and develop employees through training, coaching, and mentorship.
- Manage recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, recognition, and employee relations.
- Resolve employee concerns fairly and timely.
- Manage department within budget and assist with annual budget preparation.
- Forecast revenues and expenses accurately.
- Monitor financial performance and adjust labor and costs accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with internal audit and control procedures.
- Maintain safety, sanitation, and OSHA compliance standards.
- Oversee preventive maintenance of equipment and control repair costs.
- Maintain favorable health inspection scores.
- Manage inventory, labor scheduling, and vendor relationships.
- Support revenue growth and cost control initiatives.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food, beverage, cocktail, and wine service.
- Perform all front-of-house duties as needed (serving, hosting, bussing, expediting, reservations, room service).
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow proper cash handling and accounting procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Attend required meetings and participate in cross-training.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding restaurant operations.
- High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott and Forbes processes and standards is a plus.
- Occasionally. Paperwork.
- Concrete, tile, rubber mats covering tile, linoleum, carpet, etc.
- Pick up trays, speak with guests, clean, obtain supplies.
- Clean; inspect side work.
- Serve and speak with guests.
- View restaurant, maneuver through crowds and staff.
- Obtain overhead supplies and food from window. Serve guests at arm’s length.
- Distribute menus, use telephone, write, stock supplies. Serve plates and hold glasses with beverages.
- Use cash register, adding machine, telephone, garnish plates.
- Move chairs, tables, glassware and China carts. Average weight: 25 lbs. Maximum weight: 50 lbs.
- Food trays, beverage containers, glass racks. Average weight: 25 lbs. Maximum weight: 50 lbs.
- Operate cash register, stock supplies, serve guests.
- Assurance of food quality and consistency.
- Meet deadlines as required. Meet multiple priorities of business demands. Adjust to schedule changes, cover shifts on short notice. Work late nights or early mornings.
- Seating of guests, handling money, operate cash register, view restaurant and employee appearance.
- Being passionate about people and service.
- Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
- Basic math skills are used frequently when handling cash or credit.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
