Position SummaryThe Retail Store Manager leads store operations, drives sales performance, and develops a high‑performing team. This role is ideal for someone who combines business expertise with a genuine passion for music and customer service. You’ll represent Schmitt Music’s core values:

- Oversee all store operations to achieve sales, profit, and performance goals
- Manage inventory, expenses, and overall financial health of the store
- Exceed Sales Plan Contribution targets
- Recruit, train, and mentor a motivated sales team
- Ensure exceptional customer experiences in every interaction
- Act as an educational representative for schools and community accounts
- Participate in limited regional travel
- Foster a positive, team‑focused store culture
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in music business or related field
- 2+ years of retail management or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of musical instruments, especially band & orchestra
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Ability to work retail hours, including evenings and weekends
- Experience supervising Repair Technicians, Independent Educators, or Educational Representatives (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a background check
- Standing, walking, and occasional lifting of 20–30 lbs
- Use of ladders for stocking and merchandise movement
- Combination of retail and office‑type working environments
