Produce Associate

This role is to maintain and operate the produce department, ensuring all processes meet company and department standards and contribute to the store’s financial objectives.

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce following established procedures for culling, trimming and storing product.
• Weigh, package and label products.
• Handle spoiled or damaged products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate, and merchandise produce and floral shelves, cases, and displays.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and stacking products in coolers.
• Notify the manager when products or supplies need ordering.
• Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers.
• Maintain familiarity with all products in the department, including differences in price, taste, preparation, and use.
• Keep the department clean, attractive, and well‑stocked.
• Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
• Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• Assist in other departments as needed to support customer experience.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Minimum one year of retail or related experience (preferred).
• Ability to work with fresh produce without allergic reactions that impair performance.
• Basic reading, writing, comprehension, and document interpretation skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Attention to detail.

• Lifting or moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and turning.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, outdoor weather conditions, and a typical retail store environment.
• Noise level usually low to moderate.
• Travel requirements vary by assignment.
