Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and service-driven Retail Lead to help oversee daily retail operations and support the success of the Pro Shop team. This position serves as a key floor leader responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience, supporting team development, maintaining operational standards, and leading closing or opening operations within the retail department.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, knowledgeable, and confident leading by example in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance customer service with operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Lead closing shifts and ensure all end-of-day procedures are completed accurately and efficiently
- Serve as the acting floor leader during assigned shifts
- Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service and product knowledge
- Work with the Assistant Manager in supporting and assisting Retail Associates during daily operations and high-volume periods
- Help train, coach, and onboard new retail team members
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as they are assigned
- Process transactions accurately using a computerized point-of-sale system
- Maintain merchandising standards, restock displays, and ensure inventory accuracy
- Monitor the sales floor to ensure cleanliness, organization, and a professional appearance
- Assist in resolving customer concerns or escalated situations professionally and efficiently
- Support sales initiatives, promotions, and department goals
- Maintain knowledge of current products, services, and industry trends
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and applicable firearm regulations
- Communicate effectively with management regarding operational needs, inventory concerns, and team performance
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
- Previous retail or customer service experience required
- Experience with ATF Form 4473, and experience with other firearm transaction documentation is preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and maintain knowledge of firearms, tactical gear, and related products
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move merchandise as needed
