Job Summary

The Assistant Manager oversees overall store operations, ensuring achievement of company goals and directives.

Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:
    Represent Ace Retail Group positively, assist customers in solving problems, greet and thank customers, maintain a friendly demeanor, answer calls promptly, resolve customer issues with Ace Retail Group’s interests considered, demonstrate product knowledge and store layout familiarity.
  • Store Operations:
    Maintain a positive, professional, and safe work environment, supervise daily store operations, oversee opening and closing, implement Store Support Center programs, ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits, attend weekly management staff meetings, communicate issue resolution with Store Support Center and General Manager, assist with special district projects, implement new Standard Operating Procedures, manage daily maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness of sales floor, stockroom, and merchandise areas, ensure timely price changes and label updates, oversee associate training, maintenance, audits, and reports, direct preventative maintenance and repairs to protect physical assets, observe competition, and perform any additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, manufacturing directions, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic arithmetic skills and ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Capacity to work independently and manage flexible hours.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork, collaboration, and motivate others.
  • Physical requirements:

    standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50lbs) regularly, and lifting (up to 100lbs) occasionally with assistance; climbing.
Compensation

$18.00 per hour plus eligible benefits. (See company benefits information for details.)
