The main priority of Deli / Bakery associates is to prepare quality products for customers. They engage with customers at the service counter and move incoming merchandise out to the sales floor. Cleaning and maintaining proper food safety standards are critical to the team’s success.

As a Walmart America fresh food and grocery associate, you’ll help customers by ensuring high-quality fruit, vegetables, and prepared foods are available and well-presented.

• Provide frontline customer service and create a positive shopping experience.
• Assist customers with bakery and cake orders, decorating, and special requests.
• Help customers locate items in the dry grocery department.
• Maintain clean shelves, proper temperature controls, and expiry date checks.
• Dispose of lower‑quality produce safely.

• Ability to guide customers in product selection across produce, deli, bakery, dairy, and meat departments.
• Attention to packaging and stocking of ready-to-sell items.
• Skill in preparing and serving ready‑to‑eat food.
• Customer‑friendly approach and strong communication.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
