The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food & Beverage areas of the store.

As a Baker, no two days are ever the same. A typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Provide an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:
• Greet guests within 10 feet: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or wave.
• Within 4 feet: greet the guest, smile and initiate a warm, helpful interaction.
• Help guests find what they need or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
• Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task.
• Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards.
• Engage with guests to capture and fulfill their customized bakery order.
• Execute food and beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, In‑stock routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing and organizing and storing reserve product.
• Produce, package and label items to specifications on production cards and follow specific department routines to drive sales, in‑stocks and profitability.
• Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature‑sensitive food items, as outlined in Target’s policies and procedures.
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to Target’s policies and procedures.
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure an accurate recording of inventory.
• Appropriately use and care for in‑store and personal protective equipment; follow equipment control guidelines.
• Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and drive‑up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
• All other duties based on business needs.

• You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times).

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Previous baking experience preferred, but not required.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
