Join to apply for the Key Account Manager role at BALANCE4
WARD
At Balance4ward, we are on a mission to level the playing field for mid-market cattlemen. Our Account Managers are central to that mission by building deep relationships with clients, understanding the challenges they face, and delivering solutions that make their businesses stronger.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business and cattle feeding. You are not just selling. You are advising, coaching, and helping clients make decisions that impact their bottom line. You will work side by side with feedyards, farmers, and our internal teams to ensure every client has a world-class experience.
If you can run a breakeven, talk cattle with confidence, and build trust with cattle feeders, you will find yourself right at home here. This is more than an account management role. It is an opportunity to shape the future of the cattle industry alongside clients who value straight talk, real solutions, and strong partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Consultative Selling:
Act as a trusted advisor by deeply understanding client challenges and providing tailored solutions. - Relationship Management:
Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key clients, serving as their central point of contact. - Internal
Collaboration:
Partner with colleagues across sales, procurement, risk management, and feed merchandising to deliver seamless client support. - Customer Advocacy:
Champion client needs internally, ensuring their feedback is heard and acted on. - Revenue Growth:
Identify and execute opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing accounts. - Strategic Account Planning:
Develop and implement strategic account plans that align company offerings with client business goals.
- 5 to 10+ years of professional experience, ideally in agriculture, feedyards, cattle procurement, risk management, or related industries
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture business or related field preferred
- Ability and desire to spend 75% or more of time in assigned territory working with prospects
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
- Consultative sales background with the ability to listen, problem-solve, and guide clients toward solutions rather than pushing products and services
- Demonstrated success in building and managing client relationships, especially with cattle feeders and farmers
- Comfortable collaborating across teams to deliver a seamless client experience
- Hands-on experience working in or alongside a feedyard operation is highly preferred
- Proven ability to run a breakeven and apply financial and math skills to real-world decisions
- Self-motivated, curious, and capable of thinking critically under pressure
At Balance4ward, we value people who think critically, act with integrity, and embrace the challenge of moving the cattle industry forward. Here, you will have the chance to make an impact not only on our business, but also on the operations of cattle feeders and farmers across the country.
We take pride in our culture, which is built on collaboration, transparency, and a drive to continually improve. Our core values guide everything we do.
Go means take initiative and move with purpose.
Fail means learn quickly and grow from challenges.
Think means approach problems with curiosity and creativity.
When you join Balance4ward, you become part of a team that values curiosity, celebrates growth, and works hard while keeping a strong sense of purpose and community.
