The Design Consultant – Crew2 is responsible for selling the company’s interior products and services directly to customers through in‑home consultations, virtual appointments, and trade show engagements.

Essential

Functions Sales & Customer Engagement
  • Conduct in‑home and virtual consultations to assess customer preferences, lifestyle, and design needs.
  • Advise customers on interior design elements including space planning, layout, and color coordination.
  • Present and recommend products, detailing performance, durability, and maintenance to help customers make informed decisions.
  • Develop and negotiate customized price quotes and sales agreements that meet customer expectations and company profitability goals.
  • Accurately record product selections, measurements, and customer information using established department systems and procedures.
  • Present warranty information, product guarantees, and financing options clearly and professionally.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries and assist in resolving concerns to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
Product Knowledge & Representation
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all products, materials, and services offered by the company.
  • Attend all Product Knowledge (PK) training sessions to enhance understanding of features, benefits, and design applications.
  • Serve as a professional brand ambassador at customer appointments, design events, and trade shows.
  • Provide accurate and consistent communication between customers, internal departments, and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Operational & Administrative
  • Estimate material requirements and costs for customer selections.
  • Complete all sales documentation, measurements, and contracts in accordance with company standards.
  • Ensure product orders and installation specifications are accurate to minimize service issues.
  • Participate in periodic team meetings and continuous learning sessions to share insights and improve performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a customer‑facing, design‑related, or sales environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage in‑home sales, design consultations, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Skills & Competencies Technical & Product Knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of company products, installation processes, and material applications.
  • Ability to read floor plans and accurately take measurements.
Sales & Customer Service
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to customers in person or virtually.
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build trust and maintain long‑term relationships.
  • Demonstrated consultative sales skills with attention to customer needs and design preferences.
  • Proven ability to manage sales opportunities from initial consultation to project closeout.
