Job Overview
The HVAC Service Sales Representative will be responsible for initiating and building profitable service relationships in an assigned territory, focusing on selling renewable maintenance agreements as the key driver for establishing these relationships.
Responsibilities- Initiate, establish, and build profitable service relationships between new customers and Johnson Controls.
- Focus on selling renewable maintenance agreements and digital service offerings to promote sustainability and decarbonization.
- Work within an assigned geographic territory as part of a local branch office, coordinating with sales and operations professionals.
- Use sales tools to plan and document progress and identify new business opportunities in existing accounts.
- Obtain and close business on a monthly basis.
- Follow a disciplined process to identify, target and qualify prospective new customers, using market conditions and networks to uncover new leads.
- Contact prospective customers, schedule appointments, and build a referral network to generate new leads.
- Conduct sales calls to identify key problems and/or dissatisfaction of Facility Directors, developing a sense of urgency and positioning Johnson Controls as the preferred supplier.
- Propose solutions that use local branch service capabilities, with emphasis on renewable maintenance agreements, digital services, sustainability, and decarbonization.
- Review and finalize proposals, secure commitments, conduct kick‑off meetings, address issues, maintain and extend service agreements, and support collections.
- Use and other tools to keep management informed of progress and account status.
- Escalate to management as needed to keep the sales process moving.
- Develop and implement territory marketing plans aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Attend and present at trade shows, and participate in professional organizations.
- Maintain highest standards of quality, pride, integrity, and performance while representing Johnson Controls.
- 2‑3 years of progressive sales experience.
- Preferred: aptitude for technical knowledge with high attention to detail.
- Enviable presentation skills capable of captivating both individual and group audiences.
- Experience selling services and intangible products.
- Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.

Salary range: $46,500–$69,725, based on education, experience, skills, and market data. The role also offers a competitive sales incentive plan with volume and margin incentives on projects, quarterly and annually.
