Senior Sales Executive – Fire/Life Safety Solutions

Position overview: Supports Solutions (New Construction) business within Smart Buildings Total Fire Alarm & Life Safety Solutions team. Responsible for meeting booking and profit goals, developing relationships with contractors, consultants, authority having jurisdiction, developers, and end‑users, capitalizing on sales opportunities within territory, and executing sophisticated deals independently within guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Understand market, competitor offerings, customers, and decision influencers across region and verticals; stay updated on industry trends.
- Develop vertical market and account management plans for strategic growth and identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain qualified funnel, achieve new order/booking and profit goals.
- Collaborate with operations and internal teams for excellent customer outcomes; partner with other sales divisions for new projects and accounts.
- Attend industry networking events and professional organizations (NFPA, NFSA, ASHE, NBFAA, AFAA, IFMA, SAME, 7x24).
- Influence construction specifications by developing relationships with consulting engineers and architects.
- Work with customer organization to understand and document business goals and success metrics.
- Conduct customer site surveys to support development of multi‑offering estimates and proposals.
- Develop value‑based proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations; coordinate with operations, finance, legal, and other resources to secure sale.
- Ensure smooth sales‑to‑operations turnover and follow through on projects for satisfactory completion; maintain customer relationships for future business.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Participate in sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay current on market and product trends.
- Travel overnight up to 10% for training and business development.
- Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or state‑recognized GED.
- 3+ years of end‑to‑end sales, business development, or consulting in commercial fire alarm/life safety or similar commercial building construction industries.
- NICET Level I or II Fire Alarm Certification, or must complete certification testing within 2 years.
- Hands‑on experience with common fire and life safety systems, equipment, and building codes (IFC, IBC, NFPA).
- Financial expertise estimating and selling technical solutions and service product lines; strong account development and strategic sales skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
- 21 years of age, valid driver’s license with limited violations; eligible for fleet vehicle program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- Experience selling to electrical and general contractors and performing fire alarm design services.
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM.
Base salary range: $61,547 – $105,509 annually, plus uncapped commission structure.
