Sales Manager – Service/Repair/Modernization
Location:
Omaha, NE.
This role is responsible for driving the revenue, profit margin, and overall sales growth by leading the branch’s sales force across all three lines of business. The manager ensures sales representatives exceed sales goals and objectives and creates a culture built around easy business and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Build strong customer relationships with branch key customers and maintain a strong working knowledge of the overall market area movement, including market penetration, volume for different lines of business, and competitors’ positions and strategies.
- Manage and develop the branch’s sales representatives, including setting sales goals, reviewing sales performance, and providing ongoing training and development. Administer the quarterly performance management process and support sales representatives to ensure their questions and issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Lead business growth and foster relationships with key customers, consultants, and architects. Create synergies within all lines of business, including leadership of the NIM process to produce 100% on‑time conversion. Collaborate with Operations Teams for strategic leads and labor estimating.
- Support a culture of customer satisfaction that promotes customer retention and work with other departments to ensure proactive customer assistance.
- Implement and oversee strategic sales initiatives in keeping with corporate and regional strategic initiatives.
- Develop a consistent and superior brand identity used by all sales employees when making sales presentations and proposals and preparing bids. Identify areas of sales‑skill opportunities and initiate applicable training/coaching as required.
- Ensure all bids are approved based on established approval levels. Ensure bids requiring higher‑level approvals are submitted on million‑dollar approval forms in a timely manner and that bids requiring additional approval have the appropriate approval package submitted.
- Ensure branch sales efforts are run consistently and cohesively, including monitoring sales activity using CRM and approving sales incentives.
- Review and set sales goals in line with budgetary and corporate guidelines, including approving individual sales goals and conducting quarterly performance reviews to targets. Initiate performance management and progressive discipline when goals are not met and prepare forecasts for booking activity.
- Strategically review P&L and other financial reports to monitor sales performance within the branch, ensuring monthly goals are met or exceeded and cancellations are controlled. Work with the Branch Manager and other relevant leaders to review and develop sales budgets.
- Review, participate, and create bidding strategies to ensure profitability. Conduct or participate in ITS/factory tours as necessary to demonstrate technical competence and secure customer interest.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Prior personnel management experience preferred.
- 5+ years of directly related sales experience in the elevator or related industries is required.
- Ability to review and guide direct reports through contract proposals and business correspondence.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to improve profitability.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
