This position is part of the Army Fellows Program and is a CIVILIAN position with the Department of the Army.

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce.

As a Environmental Resource Specialist, the incumbent will work under closer supervision performing assignments and completing training. At the full-performance level, you will be expected to.

In this role you will:
  • Apply concepts and techniques in biological, physical, and ecological sciences to support a variety of projects.
  • Assist with determining the potential impacts of proposed activities on wetlands and wildlife resources.
  • Devises both short and long‑term migration plans to minimize adverse effects on the environment and assists with preparing the reports.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Basic Requirements for Environmental Resource Specialist

Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Degree must be completed by June 2026.

Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in applying concepts and techniques in biological, physical, and ecological sciences to support projects; or, determining impacts of activities on wetlands and wildlife resources; or, developing short and long‑term migration plans to minimize adverse effects on environment and assist with preparing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS‑05).

Education

One full year of graduate level education (or will have completed one full year by June 2026) in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management or chemistry.
