Position: Environmental Resource Specialist.

Duties

  • Apply concepts and techniques in biological, physical, and ecological sciences to support a variety of projects.
  • Assist with determining the potential impacts of proposed activities on wetlands and wildlife resources.
  • Develop short‑ and long‑term mitigation plans to minimize adverse effects on the environment and assist with preparing reports.
Conditions of Employment
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must sign a mobility agreement if selected.
  • Must sign an Army Fellows Participant Agreement if selected.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related discipline, completed by June 2026.
  • Alternative qualifications: a combination of education and experience, graduate‑level education, Superior Academic Achievement (SAA), or a combination of these, provided the cumulative requirements meet or exceed 100 % as outlined in the original specification.
  • Specialized experience:
    One year of experience assisting in applying biological, physical, and ecological science concepts to projects; or determining impacts on wetlands and wildlife resources; or developing mitigation plans.
Eligibility
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Foreign‑educated candidates may be considered if credentials are evaluated by a recognized private organization and deemed equivalent to an accredited U.S. program.

  • Salary includes applicable locality pay or local market supplement.
