Job Summary
The Security/Custodial/Events Setup position is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role that plays a key part in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment while supporting successful events and rentals. This position requires flexibility and strong situational awareness.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking in a dynamic public setting.
ScheduleThe schedule for this position is Friday, Saturday, & Sunday 7–8‑hour shifts and Monday 4–5‑hour shift not exceeding 29 hours per week.
PrimaryJob Duties
- Work collaboratively with the Security/Event Manager and Facilities Director to support daily operations.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of events, programs, and facility rentals.
- Perform routine custodial duties and complete assigned work orders.
- Accurately document daily custodial and security rounds.
- Provide building and parking lot security, including monitoring events and conducting routine patrols.
- Assist with parking traffic control during events and peak visitor periods.
- Lock and unlock buildings and doors before, during, and after operational hours.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate organizational vehicles required.
- Previous experience in security, facilities, custodial services, event support, or related field preferred.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based one event schedules.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures and document activities accurately.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with staff, volunteers, vendors, and visitors.
- Ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional.
- Basic computer skills and completing documentation and work orders.
- Willingness to learn and follow safety, security, and custodial protocols.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including during events and security rounds.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as part of event setup, teardown, and custodial duties.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Visual and auditory ability to observe surroundings, monitor activity, and respond to safety concerns.
