Engineer – Must have a Class Three Boiler License from the City of Omaha (Boiler Certification)This position is an excellent opportunity for a retired or semi‑retired engineer who would like to earn supplemental income while enjoying a lower‑stress work environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities include monitoring facility systems such as boilers, pumps, air handlers, fans, temperatures, and pressure levels to ensure equipment is operating properly. When an issue arises, you will troubleshoot the problem and contact the on‑call Facilities Manager for guidance. Many issues can be resolved independently or with support from the manager via Face Time or phone. If additional repairs are required, the Facilities Manager will coordinate with an outside vendor to complete the work.
- Monitoring and reporting the status of facility equipment and mechanical systems.
- Providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and professional environment.
- Following all site‑specific safety, security, and emergency response procedures.
- Responding to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, and solution‑oriented manner.
- Conducting regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding property to ensure the safety and security of the site.
- 32.00/ Hour
- Monday – Friday 3PM‑11PM
- This role offers a great balance of responsibility and flexibility, making it ideal for an experienced engineering professional who wants to stay active without the demands of a traditional engineering position.
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site‑specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Seven holidays annually paid at time and a half, if worked.
- 40 hours of vacation after one year of employment at eligible work assignments; unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
