Overview
Maintenance Tech-HVAC position at Lakeside (Immanuel Communities), located at 17475 Frances Street, Omaha, NE 68130. Lakeside has been voted “Best of Omaha” in the senior living category for 15 years and offers 89 independent, 49 assisted living and 12 memory support apartment homes along with 18 lofts. Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.
What You Will DoThe primary purpose of this role is to ensure that all utilities within Immanuel communities remain fully operational. Key responsibilities include repairing and maintaining the facility’s mechanical systems and equipment, including heating and cooling systems, appliances, plumbing, and emergency power, to support a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Maintains energy management system
- Performs preventative maintenance and repair on heat pumps or other HVAC units
- Conducts thorough weekly, monthly, and annual generator inspections to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety compliance
- Performs monthly water temperature checks and maintains log
- Uses electronic work order system to prioritize/organize orders
- Completes assigned work orders fully, with accurate time tracking and detailed notes
- Performs comprehensive preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality and longevity, identifying issues early and maintaining detailed records
- Completes apartment turnover tasks, including servicing, repairing, and replacing fixtures and appliances as needed; ensures units are move-in ready by inspections and timely maintenance
- Performs other duties as assigned; maintains clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas
Education
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Associate’s degree preferred
Experience
- Two (2) years of maintenance technician experience required
- Knowledge of split systems preferred
Other Requirements
- EPA certification required
- Certification in HVAC/Electric/Plumbing trades required
- OSHA 10 Hour Certification required within one year of start date
- Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred
- Valid driver’s license may be required
KSA – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of energy management systems; mechanical/HVAC/electrical principles; basic plumbing
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals; troubleshoot and perform maintenance
- Basic plumbing skills; troubleshoot and repair electrical issues; diagnose and repair mechanical problems
- Strong customer service and communication; determine installation/service/repair needs
- Work safely following OSHA and EPA guidelines; diagnose problems and seek resolutions
- Time management and prioritization; understanding of low voltage controls; on-call ability
